Getting here

Coming from Dalaman Airport
Dalaman Airport is roughly 25 minutes from us by road, and Ortaca sits on the way to Dalyan, Sarıgerme, Köyceğiz and Fethiye. If you have discovered a problem with your glasses on arrival, or you are heading home and want a spare pair made, stopping in Ortaca costs you very little detour. Ring ahead and we will tell you honestly whether the lenses you need can be finished inside your time window — we would rather say no than have you wait for nothing.
What happens during a visit
A straightforward pair of single vision glasses usually takes twenty to thirty minutes in the shop: we read your prescription, check your current lenses on the focimeter, measure your pupillary distance, and you choose a frame. Progressive lenses take longer, because the fitting height has to be measured on your face with the chosen frame in place, and that measurement is what decides whether the lenses will be comfortable. Once the lenses arrive we adjust the frame to your face; if anything feels wrong in the first days, bring it back and we will correct it at no charge.
Payment and prescriptions
We accept cash and cards in Turkish lira. Turkish social security (SGK) cover applies only to people insured in Türkiye, so for most visitors from abroad the purchase is private. We will always tell you the total before any lens is ordered — there are no charges added afterwards.
One thing worth repeating: we are dispensing opticians, not doctors. We make lenses to a prescription; we do not examine eyes for disease. If your vision has changed recently, or you have pain, flashes or floaters, please see an ophthalmologist first. There are eye clinics in Fethiye, Muğla and Dalaman.
Can you make glasses the same day?
For common single vision prescriptions that we hold in stock, usually yes. High prescriptions, thin high-index lenses and progressives are ordered in and take a few working days. Call before you travel and we will check stock against your exact prescription.
Do I need an appointment?
No, you can simply walk in. If you are coming from Fethiye, Marmaris or further, a quick call first is worth it: we can check stock and set aside enough time for a proper fitting.
Is there parking nearby?
We are inside the shopping street in the centre of Ortaca. There is street parking on the surrounding roads; at busy times you may need to walk a short distance.
What are your opening hours?
Current hours are on our Google Maps listing, which is the version we keep up to date — hours change around public holidays. If you are travelling a long way, phone to confirm.
